I have a 2013 LS G3033 and I accidentally ruined the ignition switch. My question is, can I replace it with a general all purpose switch?

The easy answer is yes. Then come the caveats. First is whether the new switch fits the hole in the dash. Then there's the matter of whether your wires are on individual terminals or on a plug. If it's a plug you'll probably have to cut it off and put terminals on the wires. You'll need to identify which wire goes where. A general switch for a car will not have the glow plug or preheat position. If you want that capability you'll need a tractor switch or you'll have to rig a separate spring loaded switch for that function. If you're not prepared to jump through those hoops perhaps you should just stay with the original. I don't know your abilities or areas of expertise.

O.K. Thanks. My problem is my local dealer stays 2-3 months backed up on tractor repairs. I think I have a local general tractor mechanic who can help me out.

Have you checked RCO Tractor?

Here is a link to the switch on Amazon. Would appear to be a tall order to get a generic switch to work without cobbling the wiring.
