Loud Sound on NEW L3200

I just bought a Kubota L3200 with loader and landpride 5' rotary mower. It makes a loud noise when driving it, I compare the noise to a "hog being killed". Sometimes it goes lower, and then up again. Its been 3 weeks since I have it and only two hours of operation because I do not know if it is normal. Please any advice? Thanks :confused2:

The only thing I can think of is if it is a Hydrostat transmission and you are mowing in HI range it may "whine" some especially if trying to pull a hill. Of course you don't normally mow in HI. I would not call it "hog killing" noise, but who knows. Brakes aren't on locked in the first notch are they? I cant imagine what it could be otherwise..hydraulic pump?.. I dunno. kinda hard to diagnose over just words, and a picture is not going to do a lot of good either.

Call dealer and show him. I have an older model (2010) of more or less the same tractor and it don't make any funny noises. Good Luck.

By "hog being killed" I take it you mean squealing. That is what hydrostatic trannys do. My L3400 squeals pretty good at certain speeds and RPM's. The harder it works the more it squeals.

Most new owners(including me) don't realize that"with the HST,less pedal means more power" let up and it gears down,more power less speed.Only use of High range should be on the road.I took me a year to realize this!

Only other thing you can do is video tape it with sound and post it on youtube.com and link it back here so we can hear what you are talking about. I'll be up at the farm this wk/ed so I might video tape mine...

I have a semi-crappy one that I found, near the end you can hear the HST whine kicking in. The first part, going down hill, you are not going to hear anything, it's only towards the very end, where I have to let up on the petal that you'll hear it.

The video was a poor attempt to show the steep section that I mow.

Does it make the noise in all ranges/pedal positions, sound change under load? Does operating the hydraulics make any difference? Sometimes when your hydraulics are maxed out the valve will squeal. Do you notice any difference when turning and raising the 3PH? Any difference with 3PH up or down?

The noise it makes is mostly all the time, I take it out of the garage and drive towards the field. I did went to Youtube and spend time watching videos of Kubotas, it turns out that all of them make the same sound. My wife told me that it is more of a sound when you are cutting wood with a bench saw. Anyway, after watching the videos I went outside and spend the rest of the day enjoying it!!!!!

I also have an L3200.

It is much louder than my B7510.

The worst whine is when the tractor is yelling at you.

It usually means the parking brake is on ! I keep forgetting it all of the time and she is very unhappy when you try to drive like that.

The HST is loud normally especially if it is your first one.

I wish i could TAZER myself if I try to drive with the brake on:mur:
