My Toro Zero turn mower began missing / sputtering and losing power today. Only happens under load ( mower deck engaged / mowing uphill ) The engine is a Kohler Command Pro 26. I have a little over 600 hrs on it and have never changed the plugs or fuel filter so think I will do that in the morning. Anyone have any other suggestions as to what I should check ?? Thanks

How old is your gas? I've been having alot of trouble with the new ethanol mixed fuel in my small engine stuff. Had the same problem in my exmark 21". Changed the plug and put fresh 93 octane in and it seems to be fine. I used to buy 3 or 4 five gallon cans at a time, now I buy just one and use it as fast as I can. Anything I'm not going to use for a while I run out of fuel too.

Lotsa times water in the fuel will cause those symptoms..
