Bush hogging heavy wet grass and losing power. Have upped the rpm to 2400 (2000 is normally fine). Any advice?

Dull blades maybe... Cutting wet grass always takes more HP. Have you checked the blades?

Power loss with FEL? Tiller? Or is it just with rotary cutter?

Don't know what kind of tractor you're using but it takes 2600 RPM on my rig = 540 PTO RPM.

I can mow at 2000 RPM until the going gets tough, then the RPM gets ramped up.

Thanks all for the advice. Changed my blades and revved up to 2600 rpm. Problem solved.
