After parking my tractor (DK35) my hoe (KB2385) goes limp and fades to ground level in little over an hour (no viagra or cialis jokes!). I'm wondering if I've got a problem? The stabilizers fall also but much slower.
Also...If not very careful, when raising the stabilizers they smack against the side of the hoe structure. Does anybody have a cure???

The wording of that post is truly funny. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

"Loose hoe"
"goes limp and fades"
"I'm wondering if I have a problem"
"smack against the side of the hoe"

Sorry Kero, can't help with the problem other than to say my neighbor has the same setup and to my knowledge, it doesn't have the same problem.

not sure if you're having a problem - or if this is an issue with the mechanics behind hydraulics (i'm not an expert in this area!).

it's my understanding (don't take this as gospel!) that the hydraulics will 'bleed down' when the tractor is shut down, as a result, the elements (stabilizers, etc.) will follow gravity and will slowly fall to earth when the hyrdraulic pressure recedes (as in turning off the tractor).

as for the stabilizers smacking hard against the frame - i'm able to rectify this by feathering the controls (read that: gently move the controls until you get the hang of it).

i'm sure another forum expert will chime in - just my 2 cents on my normal lack of understanding regarding tractors/hydraulics in general (i'm learning!)

good luck

I just took a walk over to the neighbors. He wasn't home to ask about the drift down when the tractor is off but as PF noted, many hyd. implements do this but at varying speeds.

For the stabilizers smacking, I did see where he mounted large rubber washers to the sides of the plates on the BH (vertical piece of steel just outside your feet when sitting on the BH seat). They're about 2" diameter and 1" thick. Don't know where he got them.

Yes this is a possible problem, but it is also to some degree normal. There is bleed down in hydraulics. The bleed down should be very slow. You should not see it bleed down that quickly, perhaps overnight, but probably not in an hour. I would have it checked out, it might be within tolerance. I actually did a test on bleed down on both of my tractors and parked them with heavy implements on the 3pt hitches with the 3pt fully raised, at the same time I raised the front end loaders to 24" off the ground with the bottom of the bucket level. Both had bleed down to some extent. The FELs on both bled down but neither went all the way to the ground, the 3pt on one bled down about 30% over night, the other bled down about 5%. I didn't time the test, but both were parked for about 12 hours with heavy implements. Now I'm not sure if your BH uses a 3pt hydraulic pump or uses the tractor pump, but in either case I would be surprised to see the bleed down that fast. It will bleed down, but the speed at which yours is bleeding down seems faster than it should. I never tested bleed down with the Great Bend backhoe for the Kubota, so I really don't even know about that. Does your 3pt bleed down fast? Does your FEL bleed down fast? If both of those do not bleed down too fast then I suspect that the problem may not be much of a problem at all.

Sounds like the design could be a little better on that than it is, but I suspect some heavy rubber bumpers would work to prevent damage.

My 2375 has the same problems although it takes a day or two for the stabilizers to bleed down. I would like to find some rubber bumpers to install to keep the stabilizers from hitting the sides.

My backhoe on a Lk2554 started out rock solid. the arm would bleed down over days and the outriggers about 1/3 of the way down in 24 hours. This year the outriggers are pretty much the same, but the arm seems like it will bleed down in a couple of hours. It seems to come from wear. I guess the valve body?

I have a Rhino 85 backhoe and the hoe will drift to the ground in a few hours, the stabilizers also drift off but slower.

I havn't had my 2375 hoe long enough to know if it bleeds down. BUT I did pick up some rubber bumbers today at granger for $6.50 for 2 of them. Got home late so I will put them on tommorro. they are about 1.5 in. dia. and 1 inch thick.

You may also try an automotive place such as Oreily's. they had some but had to order them. didn't want to wait for them. Mark
