Loose cylider sleeve?

Lost head gasket on my jinma 284 (y385).

Took down top end to replace, and the sleeve on #2 cylinder can be rotated in the block by hand.

Anyone encountered this?

Is it still holding coolant? The head should lock it in place, i believe it is sealed at the bottom with a large oring and sealed by the head gasket at the top... if the oring was going at the bottom it might move freely...

No water in oil. Pulled head because exhaust was pressurizing radiator.

A wet sleeve with no "O" rings, it is normal and could indicate there is not out of round when it make a full turn.
If it turn easily with the "O" rings in the bottom, they need to be replaced.
As for dry sleeves, they should have at least some close fit or even being put in place with dry ice help.
As what I have seen in most cases.

Fyi....head gasket thickness matters. Re adjust valves after replacememt.

The Y385T engine is a dry sleeve engine, no orings.You would be able to turn the sleeve

Those engines was build that way.
I had a 495 ....4 silinder ....95 bore.
Mine leaked thru the block down on the outside of sleeve no 2 and I had to replace my block.
Those sleeves is called slidefitt in the block and not pressfitt.
