Looking to repower my rayco 140

The engine is a JD 4045H (tier 2)with Stanadyne DE10 injector pump. looking for a tuner to change timing and to change fuel mapping. I found at least two companies that make them.

Who were the manufactures I did some calling and most companies I deal with on a weekly basis just have tuners for the tier 3 denso injection not the stanadyne pumps.

Call a good diesel hotrod shop around you. There is a chance it might be mechanical not electrical. Kinda like the old 12V cummins in trucks. They had a cam and you adjusted it in the injection pump. Not sure but it is worth a phone call.

It is definitely an electronic pump. I called, Area Diesel and Illinois Dyno Center. They both had a tuner. I don't know if they they make them or what brand they are.

Yeah its electronic pump similar to the pumps in the 98.5 to 2002 cummins known as a VP44 which is one of the hardest motors to get easy power out of. Your newer Tier3 and Tier4 Motors by far see the biggest gains and easiest adjustment out of a tuner. As for your 12valve pumps there are lots of things that can be done with simple hand tools and grinding of the fuel plate.

No chip yet, did you get your pump back in yet? I haven't landed any jobs that require more HP yet. This year I have done a lot of proposals but only getting about 20% of them. I'm not losing work to competitors, I'm losing them to a soft economy. It's hard to spend money on something that isn't a necessity for me and I think my customers are The same right now.
