Hi Guys,

First post here and looking for some feedback. I have been lurking and reading for awhile. I am a first time buyer for a rider. Been walking behind my self propelled Honda for the last 20 years but the new lot is a bit bigger than I like.

Getting ready to purchase a mower. I have a small lot, 1/2 acre, with some slope on a portion of it. I need a rider as it takes about 2 hours to mow and trim.
I do not need the tractor for anything more than mowing, aerating and pulling a small trailer. Don't really want to spend $4k on a new mower.

I am a pretty good mechanic and handy with the tools so maintenance and repairs do not concern me.

I have a chance to pick up a 2008 304X with less than 200 hours on it, well maintained. I am wondering if there is anything I need to be concerned about with a mower this old. I have read the threads on the K46 and am not worried about that. If it goes out, I can repair it. My property will not tax the transmission.

So other than the transmission, is there anything else I need to check or be concerned about? I will inspect the deck, spindles, etc.

Appreciate any insights you might care to share.

Thanks,
Gary

I don't own one but my brother does. He only uses it to mow. No issues so far. He mows a lot (according to me). Amounts to about an acre in total. So, for the what it's worth column, looks like it should work for you.
