looking for lawncare resources

can someone point me in the direction of some good lawncare resources for first time home owners. maybe a complete idiots guide to fertilizer, green grass, removing dandelions, crab grass and other weeds.
we're looking at buying a house towards the end of the year and i want to get as much knowledge as i can.

Scott has an excellent 4 step program on their web site. You can sign up for a newsletter that comes to your e-mail every month and reminds you of the next step to take. When you sign up it will ask for your zip code and what type of grass you have. I am very pleased with their program.
