Welcome erparis to TBN!

Yes, there is lots of good info on here - what will be your main use by season, land area you are looking to maintain, and budget?

You can go all the way from a BX series - sub compact, B Series compact, then into the L series, and then new or used?

Clearing a 300 yard driveway in michigan winters. Clearing 5 acres of downed tress in summer weather and some yard mowing. B series 30 HP about right size I think, used preferably.

Here's a very good L2800 low hour machine for your needs - is a tough machine and heavier than the B and would be good in the woods and run a 60" snowblower as well. 2008 Kubota Tractor

You might be able to get them down a few $, but this is the L series and is more robust than the B.

HI Richard,

Did you click on the URL provided for the L2800 - it is in your area Muskegon MI?

172 hours, QA bucket and $15K would seem to be a very nice machine for your intended puposes.

Yes, tried to make contact right after looking at the ad. Same problem I always seem to have with Craigslist, no one returns my calls or e-mails. We will see is first of the week they respond back. It looks like a nice rig.

Richard,

Yes that is frustrating when no phone # in so many ads 0 makes me wonder if they really want to sell it, but that machine has been relisted every few days to keep it at the top..

Good luck and keep us posted as to your success.

The problem with the L-2800 might be the lack of mid-pto for front mounted PTO attachments like a snowblower.

Correct, I called Kubota and they do not offer a mid pto kit for the L2800, just the Grand model.

The B series is a nice sized machine - big enough to tackle a lot of tasks, but small enough to get in and out of tight areas. I can't see outgrowing a B series unless you end up on a much bigger property, or end up using it commercially.

You have all the nice toys to go with yours. Sounds like it doees the job for you. May end up going that way to get a front mount snow blower.

5 years and 405 hours between the 2 B series for me. Only reason I traded my B3030 was because I wanted a cab, so now I don't see a reason to need another machine for a good, long time. I like having the mid pto, as it leaves me options for the future if I have the need - front mount blower, mid mount mower, sweeper, etc.

My old B3030 may still be available at Barlow's. It's in great shape, was garaged the entire time I owned it, and served me very well. Might be worth checking to see what they want for it.
