anyone out there have a used engine {HH60}
i have a 70's model Troy Built Horse in great shape...
it was my wifes Grandfathers which he only used a couple of years before passing, it then sat in his work shop un-used until a couple of years ago when her Grandmother gave it to me {along with a '57 Kiekhaefer Mercury 20 hp outboard in good condition - also runs} when using the tiller last year it stopped running, in diagnosis i found the valves were not moving, waited until now to tear down and found the camshaft broken just below the gear, no damage to anything else, engine looks great inside and out.... now i'm finding the camshaft is on back order and all the parts websites i've found are out of stock. the local lawn and garden repair shop has had 3 on back order since July of 2011...
so i'm on the hunt for a used engine or engines to be able to has a back up of usable parts to avoid having to replace the engine.
Anyone???
