Some time back (Holidays 2004) I recall seeing a thread on TBN that showed several photos of a maritime disaster, a sunken ship that had been sawed into sections in order to recover it. There were tractors and cars showing in the sawed off sections.. Now, I cannot seem to locate the thread. Help?

The ship you're talking about is the TRICOLOR, a Norweigan car carrier (and, I might add, one of the strangest looking ships I've ever seen). In December 2002, a Bahamian container ship struck the TRICOLOR and it sank about 20 miles off the coast of France. Over the next three weeks, two ships hit the partially submerged wreck, so the French told the shipping company to get it out of there. They used abrasive-coated cables to saw the ship into nine sections and haul it away. The best site I have found is the Tricolor Salavage Site; they have lots of pictures, info, and even some video. A Google search for "tricolor slavage" will yield lots more info. It's a very interesting story.
