Looking at a YM2000

Alright, so I am looking at picking one of these up to do some moderate yard work/snow removal.

There is one for sale locally (SW WI) for $4900.

It has 1031 hours on it (the gauge reads 031) and has a Bulldog loader and box scraper. The advertisement says that both the tractor and the loader have been recondidtioned.

Is this about the right price for one of these?
What sort of things should I be looking for as far as problems?

If it's reconditioned in vietnam . Stay away. With that loader, I believe it will be a vietnam recon.

Reconditioned and a Bulldog Loader would make me think it's a VN unit. Not a tractor I'd want to buy. Probably a good price for a quality tractor with a loader, but most reconditioned units come with a new meter. No way of knowing how many hours are really on it or what parts were swapped to make it run.

Mabe he will tell you the truth. Bulldog loader is almost a dead give away

Ask where is the parts source to maintain that loader. Verify what you are told. We have read here that there is NO parts source.
