Looking at a 1500 - Help!

Sorry guys, but I am tractor stupid and looking for my first. One that caught my eye is a Mitsubishi 1500 on craigslist. It's dark blue and so is loader - is that right or likely repainted? Box blade is red. Owner is going to send more info, but for now I just want to know if this is a good model to start with. Parts available? Anything I need to look out for if I take a look at it? Any reconditioned models to avoid? Price $5K? Year (he thinks maybe mid 90's -???) ANY info from you vets is greatly appreciated!

If it is "reconditioned" with near 0 hours, I'd stay away from it. More like 70's. Either the owner is nieve or is trying to act ignorant. either is a good reason to avoid it. Parts availability is getting worse. there were a couple models of Mitsubishi 1500 with different engines. KE75 parts are available. KE80 & KE85 are not as available. I think $5000 is plenty for a 2wd model of that era unless it has a US loader & is in real good condition.

Thanks for the input, there always seems to be such knowledgable, helpful people on this site. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to help. Owner traded tractor yesterday anyway, so the search is still on!
