Tractor
Massey Ferguson 1215, Case 801B
I just picked this garden tractor up this morning. I traded an old AC stick welder and a floor jack for it. It's a Pennsylvania Panzer. I'd never heard of them before, but when I looked it up online there's quite a following.

I suppose it would help if I actually attached the pictures...

The guy told me that these are popular with tractor pullers because the rear end is from a chrysler.

This one doesn't run right now. This will probably be a project for spring.

Pretty neat. That is a big rear on that thing. What's it gonna take to get it running?

The guy I got it from said it ran 4 years ago when he put it away.

I think a carb rebuild will get the engine running. There are a few bearings that will need replaced too. I know already that one of the deck bearings and one of the front wheel bearings need replaced. There may be others too.

Check out the link below, this fellow has a ton of garden tractors I think there is a panzer or three with some neat pictures.

I too like the old garden tractors, I have an Economy Jim Dandy. Good luck with your project and keep us updated.

Thanks to all for the links. They are helpful. Keep them coming. I have already found a correction I need to make. The rear end is actually out of a Plymouth. I found the nameplate, too. This tractor is a T75.

If there are any other Panzer owners out there that find this thread, I found this site too...

You have good time if you decided to restore..easy to work on plus parts still floating around to purchase.

I seen a thread on here that said Spring is springing.... So, does it run yet?:D

Just checking to see if you pulled an all nighter or two on the panzer and just too tired to update us.

Spring comes at different times in different places. May is our spring. It doesn't run yet.

I unloaded it from the trailer, though. It left a little trail of parts on the trailer as I rolled it backwards. This may be more of a project than I had originally thought. The good news is that I got an e-mail response from a parts supplier, and he's going to send me the parts manual for free.

Just kidding with ya!

Are you going to garden with it or do some pulling stuff?

I think in the short term I'll use it to pull around my little dump cart. I'll try mowing with it at least once. I have a cat. 0 3 pt. hitch for a sears garden tractor that I may try to attach to it somehow. I also have the plow and disc for said hitch.

In the end I'll probably sell it off after tinkering and fixing it up. I have no less than 6 lawn/garden type tractors on my place right now. All of them need some level of repair. I have a Toro 266-H that I use for mowing, and anything else that I get running good is sold off. That serves two purposes... I satisfy my irrational desire to buy any small tractor I find, and I keep some cash flow in the tractor budget to satisfy my irrational desire to own every implement that may ever fit my little Massey 1215 SCUT.

Wow! That thing's built like a brick s**thouse!

Automotive rear, and a cast front axle just like the old big-iron had!

Nice find!

The grill is cast too. The only sheet metal on the whole thing is the hood.

I saw one on the lawn and garden collector website. It sure is gonna be pretty when you get it fixed up. Is the tractor complete, or are there any parts missing?

To my knowledge it's complete. There are a few missing nuts and bolts, but all the parts are there.
