Jim,

Maybe you have your gate lock on backwards.

I see some bad storms moving East from Ft worth today, seems like every storm lately comes with a catch!! what happen to those nice calm refreshing rains without all the drama of hail, wind, and tornado's?

My wife's truck that my daughter uses got hammered in Weatherford last night, hood and fenders full of hail marks. The Wal-Mart my daughter works at while in school had some skylight broken out too.

Very cloudy this morning...looked like "it couldn't help but rain." At noon driving to Salado to get a bite, mist hit the windshield but dried so fast I never needed the wipers...weather projection was right... 50% of the area got precipitation..just an immeasurable amount:(

We didn't have anything today until a little after 3 p.m. when the wind hit, the city's siren was blaring, and the rain came again. The good news is that I haven't seen any sign of damage in our neighborhood, the high winds didn't last long, and I got another third of an inch of rain.

Sorry to hear about the hail damage, Dennis.

My glass block window for my new bathroom arrived at Lowe's in Decatur yesterday. I went to pick it up yesterday afternoon and drove through some hard rain around Alvord that lasted alsmost until I got to Decatur. I could see several storms off to the south and east also. However, it seemed like the storm I drove through was going away.

Inside the store when I inspected my window, they wanted to know if I wanted to just leave the window there for awhile because they said they heard of heavy rain and quarter sized hail between Decatur and Alvord. I checked the padding around the window and figured since it was glass block, it would take a heavier beating than regular glass. Besides, after waiting three weeks on my window, I didn't want to leave it there. I told them to load it into my truck and I'd take responsibility.

As I left the store, I noticed the sky seemed to be clearing. I drove home under sunny skies the whole way home and the box didn't even get damp.:D:thumbsup: You just never know with Texas springtime storms. I've sure been lucky through all of this to avoid any bad hail or high winds. Our neighbors around Waxahachie and up in Hopkins Counties didn't fair as well. I heard Sulphur Springs had 100 mph straight line winds. No thanks!

I know this has seemed to be the windiest spring in a long time. That and no rain down here. The sandy clay loam around my place is cracking pretty bad in spots. Sure could use some nice slow rain overnight for a couple of nights.

Anyone got the address to send that request to?:)

On my way to work this morning in San Antonio, we had patchy fog, the gate was wet from the humidity, sure felt like the water should just fall out of the air, but nothin. Did manage to hit a deer on the way in, no damage, locked up the brakes and just clipped her with the bumper. The FM was wet so I couldnt get her woahed up in time.
The deer rolled a few times in the ditch and got up and run off.

please send rain.

I sure wish I could send some of our rain down to you guys in Texas. I live in Western Pa and we are having record rainfall. My yard is so mushy you can hardly walk on it. The grass is getting really high but it is just too wet to cut. I think our rain total for April is over 6" and there is no end in sight. Hang in there guys.

Don't know who should file a formal complaint, you guy's getting flooded with our share of water, or us Southern boy's since y'all are hogging it all.

Mother nature can sure be a real Bit$#.

Well, all in all, we got 1-1/4". We had 2 waves of hail come through, not too much in either one. The first one dropped stuff that was smaller than a pea and the second heavier one had quarter sized hail. There was surprisingly little damage considering the wind was gusting to 60 mph during all of this. I went outside to make sure all the drains were clear of leaves and watched the tops of the pine trees in the yard moving about 15 feet in the gusts. I heard a couple of ominous 'cracks' but nothing came down.

We got lucky. We'll wait and see what today brings. It's getting dark outside right now but not too threatening.

Here in Wood county there's good news and bad news. We've avoided the storms.....but we ain't got a lot of rain. It looks really bad in the mid-west.

With all the storms I hate to resort to the Cherokee "Rain Dance" just to get a little moisture. Problem is the last time I did it I found out I could bring rain, but I didn't know how to stop it.

Frank,

I'm guessing you are about ten miles from me? I didn't get anything out of last nights storm. A little thunder, but no wind or enough rain to make my dirt muddy.

Right now, 5pm, I'm getting some showers, LOUD thunder and tons of threats on the news about what's heading this way. Tornado warnings, large hail warnings and 80 mph wind warnings. All I want is some rain!!!!!

Eddie
