logsplitter lift

I purchased a speeco 28 ton a couple months ago and have been adding a hydraulic lift as time allows, I had to add a new hydraulic control valve to operate the main cylinder and a lift cylinder that I purchased from surplus center. Here's a few pics.



Added a battery box for the 11hp honda electric start that replaced the briggs that came with the splitter.














Still need to finish up paint and hydraulic hose.

Do you have any plans for a "foot" to keep it from tipping if you get a heavy round on there?

Hey @BeltheHntr how did your log lift turn out? I'm thinking of making one for my Oregon which is a similar design. I think it uses the same beam, just larger wheels.

I have a lift on mine. It’s a major back saver.

I would love to have a lift. But most of my splitting is 20" or less, but even those get heavy. I had been using my loader to get them at the right height. Then I would just pick them up and set them down. No lifting from the ground, but even that was getting to be too much.

My solution is an 8' 4x4. I set on end on the lower web of the I-beam on my splitter. Then I just roll the piece up the inclined plane. It is slow, but it saves my back. I wish I would have thought of this years ago.

I also hate splitting in the vertical position. I still need to make a platform similar to what was shown in the video
