Building a log splitter, the question I have is the pump outlet is 1/2 npt, the valve inlet is 3/4 npt, what size hose should I use to connect the two? I am guessing 3/4 would be best and reduce at the valve. It is a 13.6 gpm pump. Valve is rated up to 20 gpm.

Thanks
Kevin

Yes, 3/4 hose is fine you should use a ''step fitting'' that is a 1/2 npt to 3/4 or #8 hose. Then standard 3/4 at valve end. This fitting is a crimp on fitting that anybody that makes hoses should have. It will also keep you from having to buy additional fittings keeping things neat.
