Today I was greasing the truck and suddenly the jaws on the lock n lube would not open when I retracted the collar. Also when I could get it onto the zerk, it often leaked grease out the side due to a poor connection.
I went and got another grease gun to finish the job.
Has anyone had this problem before?

I just got one. It came with an extra set of jaws and a seal kit. I would also like to hear if this is a problem.

I've had my L 'n L four years now and not a problem. I've got two size grease zerks - I've found. So I adjust the L 'n L for the 32 that are the one size and use another gun for the four that are bigger. What I should really do - replace the four with zerks the same size as the 32 others.

oosik, when I have run into 2 different sized zerks I replace the nonstandard zerks for practicality. It is a major pain having a 2nd gun for the oddballs, and a 2nd nozzle is worse,it gets mislaid to easily.
mred2, I looked at the other threads about lock n lube and they were positive. The owners are quite happy. Still even a good company makes the occasional dud unit.

Take the LnL apart to see if something got caught inside that is keeping the jaws from coming together all the way

My son used mine for the first time this weekend and it worked great. But as I said, mine came with an extra set of jaws. Might be a reason?

Excuse the delay, it has been mad house time for the last 10 days.
When I tried to disassemble the locknlube I had little success. It is a clone called allumlube made in south africa. It has been press fitted togather to prevent repair.
The next step will be a hack saw to see what is inside.

So how many knock offs can you buy for the price of one LnL? Up here they are any where's from $45-$55 depending on what you buy. That's getting into ridiculous territory for what you are getting.
