I am awaiting deliverly of a L3000DT and would like to know about Loaders (FEL). The Kub unit is expensive and is there an alternative? I will be doing light work with it and would like your opinions please. Pricing would also be helpful

Hi I answered your other post. But would like to add Allied/Buhler and Bush Hog to your list of alternatives. They along with Woods make good aftermarket loaders.

There has been a great deal of discussion in the past about after market FELs. The Kubota is a great unit, balanced and designed for a SPECIFIC Kubota tractor. The threads state that Woods makes a great loader that has a bit more capacity for less money. It is more generic (designed to fit several different tractors) so is not specific for your unit. Woods makes very good attachments, so it should not be a problem.

Do a search on FEL and loaders and you'll find a wealth of information.

Just to add another one that makes FEL's to your list, look into Great Bend.

I have an L2500 with a Woods loader it works just fine for me. My dealer had it from last year so I got a pretty good discount for it being weathered.

Oh, it is painted to match.

cJ,

Glad to hear Woods matches the weathered paint too, a great company. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I have confused you Carl. The Woods loader was painted to match a new kubota. However, from it sitting out in the weather for a season the paint on the loader weathered a little bit. So, it does not quite match the paint on my almost new L2500. The L only had 50hrs on it. It was 2yrs old but kept inside.

I have been happy with the loader so far. It is a quick detach style also with a joystick control.

We just took delivery on an MX5000 it has a Kubota FEL on it but. We were going to buy a 4310 (they couldn't find one within 300 miles). We were going to have a Bush Hog FEL put on it because the dealer said they sell 90% of their tractors with that loader because of price and performance. You can even get it in orange.

I don't think it will affect the resale value of my tractor. after I explain that it has a higher max lift capacity, and it is constructed heavier. Comes with some better features and was delivered already painted in New Holland blue.

When it came time to purchase I wanted better. I bought better. And I beleive it will be in better shape at resale.

Hi I read this pricing stuff off the Carver site. This is why I made the statement, if this is the case for trading I would be concerned.

http://carverequipment.com/used_tractor_shopping.htm

8. Value to add for a front in loader (Different brand as tractor) that does NOT show lots of sloppy space in the arms and buckets pins, control valve levers ... $100.
9. Value to add for a front in loader (SAME brand as tractor) that does NOT show lots of sloppy space in the arms and buckets pins, control valve levers ... $1000.

cJ,

No confusion just clarity, and it was not meant to be taken seriously that's why the /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

I had a Mistubishi Beaver 18 HP 3Cyl for 2 years before the Kubota's and the aftermarket unit on that one was a bit weak, but that's what it came with when I bought it.

The Woods and other brands are good, however resale may suffer some. I also think the Carver difference of $900 is a dealers perspective, as they 1. want to sell packages, and 2. trade in values for non brand equipment probably are lower from a dealer, however I doubt that will effect the general used value in the open market by a large margin.

Of course your talking a dealers perspective on trade in versus resale to a private individual. The latter is the way I alway sell my former equipment. There seems to be a never ceasing demand for used compact tractor/loaders units. So as long as you don't abuse a unit to badly, people come readily knocking on the door.
