at least I think it is. Just bought a used '05 Massey 1533 and the joystick seems sloppy. Posted this in the MF forum, but not much luck so far. Wondering what could be causing this. Are there some adjustments (Linkages) I need to make or check?

Anyone ever have a problem similar to this? All functions work, but it just doesn't feel right to me.

I don't know that piece of equipment specificly, but if it is a typical 2 spool hydrualic valve actuated by a manual lever / linkage, then it's probably just gernerally worn from use. Get access to the point where the handle is connected and you'll most likely see worn pins / brackets and probably loose/ sloppy ball joint type connections since it's a joystick setup (up/down and roll forward and back controlled on one handle). If this turns out to be the case, parts to fix it should be readily available / possible to match up parts with a decent equipment dealer, or even Tractor Supply, realitively inexspensively.

I just rebuilt the linkage on my deere 855 loader linkage. $200 later...it's like new!

I've yet to take a look, but will do so soon. Kind of gotten used to it, so we shall see. Thanks for the replies.

Totally different tractor and may not even apply but.....

I let a friend run my loader for a bit while we were loading wood and he soon said the joy stick has a lot of play in it. It must have happened slowly because I never noticed it until he pointed it out. Anyway, to make a short story long, I checked the linkage and just under the cover at the base of the lever there are ball joints for pivit points where the linkage attaches to flat metal. The nut loosed up and almost fell off the threaded post of the ball joint.

Hopefully your sloppyness is a simple fix as mine was.

I'm hoping that is all it is

That is exactly how my GC is set up and mine was missing a nut from new. Put one on and now the controls are tight.

is yours a pedestal style joystick? Any idea on the size nut and thread pitch?
