Loader hose question

My hoses for the CX200 loader have rubbed on the front tire and worn through the plastic net protecting material. The hose are untouched so I don't have a problem. Just wondered what others are using to protect the hoses.
Seems that the hoses must be in the "perfect" position to avoid the tire

The hoses can be adjusted so they do not touch the tire. They need to be turned so they curl correctly, and the set-up crew should have done it right the first time. However, it is not a tough thing to do, by loosening the connection where the flexible hose connects to the tubing. A few plastic ties in the right location will help as well. Not good if they have rubbed through the nylon mesh. The hose will be next, I'd think. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

There is also a hose guide available. It shipped with the front hitch for my 54" plow. I have attached a zoom pic to give you an idea of its use on the 4110. Sorry--can't find a part number

That's too far forward to work for the CX200 on a 2305. There is one on there already, but I'm going to look it over to see if one of those can be added to help.
I checked those hoses a couple of times early on when I was using the loader because I thought they were vulnerable. They seemed ok before. I recently had about 12 straight loader hours and stopped watching the hoses. That's when they were rubbing.

I didn't explore whether there was another mounting point closer to the hydraulic quick-couplers on my 4110, but it might be worth looking at on your machine. I'm sure there is an adaptation or mod that would work for the 2305.

On one unit, I had one hose that no matter what I did always got chaffed and nicked while turning sharp. I finally took a piece of flexible copper pipe from the plumbing section, flared both ends and slid it over the new hose before attaching the end. Bent it to shape. It now takes the rubbing and not the hose... that was 8 years ago, NP since.

The factory hose giude is junk (at least on my 4100).

A mech. engineer who worked for an automotive company once told me "If you want it to fall off, attach it with one bolt." "If you want it to fall off someday, use two" "If you want it to stay on, use at least three fasteners".

The hose guid on my 4100 was only held on with one bolt and it came loose and bent itself into the wheel and then became very twisted. Even when bent back to the "optimum" shape, the hoses would still occasionally contact the wheel.

I use a 6" rubber bungee. I wrap one end around the hoses about 12" from the couplers and hook it with the S-hook back to the rubber bungee. The hook on the other end is hooked over the lip on the top of the sheet metal bracket that holds the couplers on the tractor. The hoses are pulled up in a nice high arc, above where the tire can ever rub on them.

I know your CX200 loader is different from my 210 on my 2210, but mine has a support loop on the bottom side of the right front foot support. Hard lines run up the right side frame of the loader and flexible hoses run down the upright and under the foot rest. No way could they ever hit the front tire. Now my front snow blade gets close, but there is another loop attached at the right front of the frame, next to the ground strap for the battery. This second strap holds the hoses above the tire. I've found that this loop is not compatible with my loader and I need to remove it for loader use. Not sure why Deere thought we would have loaders or blades, but not both.

It sounds to me like you might be missing a loop that should have been part of the setup for your loader.

How many hose brackets does your 2305 have? I believe mine has 2 holders. I will check tonight when I get home and verify this. I will see if it is possible for mine to rub the tire and the locations of each holder.

I also have a question for you. Does your quick connects leak when the tractor is sitting overnight? My gray connector seems to drip on the concrete when it sits for a couple of days. This is with the FEL lines connected.

keeney, I'm surprised. 400+ hours on my 4115 and the same hose guide is as tight as the day it was delivered, new. I agree with 3 vs. 1 bolt but so far, so good.

Thanks, though, for the heads up. When checking for any loose nuts or bolts, I'll now pay more attention to the hose hanger.

I do have to be careful with the twist and routing of the lines from the front end blower. They too feed through the hanger but they require an additional quick ring type loop on the grill gaurd to keep them off the front tire. That ring seems a bit jury-rigged to me. I'm looking for something more like the hose hanger (but maybe with 2-3 bolts).

I have 2 brackets. One on the FEL Upright near the top that starts the line curving down and towards the engine side of the support bars that hold the FEL up when it is off the tractor. The second is under the platform just below the forward and reverse pedals. See the next few pictures showing how my hoses are routed. They do not rub against the wheel.

I disconnected the lines from the quick connects and re-connected them starting with connector #2 (silver) and the leaking seems to have stopped.
