What causes a floppy bucket on a loader?

I recently added a H120 loader to my 2 year old 1026R.

The bucket dumps faster in regular mode than it does in what is supposed to be the faster regen mode. The bucket does not flop after using regen mode.

The service manager suggested that I hook up the loader hoses on reverse circuits. Hook the lift to the dump circuit & the dump to the lift circuit.
He said that doing this would show if the SCV was the problem.

I got the same results as when it was hooked up correctly.

I am no hydraulics expert, but I am sure the bucket flops because oil is flowing out of one side of the cylinder faster then it is flowing into the other side.

I just do not know why this is happening.

You are correct in that the oil is flowing out of the cylinder faster than it is flowing in. The cause is that the when the bucket dumps it is an over hanging load trying to extend the cylinder. If your spool in the directional valve is cut made to meter out the flow is forced out faster than your pump flow is forced in. The reason this does not happen with regen circuits is that pressure is common to both ends of the cylinder so the cylinder can not run away as easily.
