When i detach my front end loader today to do some brush hogging i noticed that the cylinders on each side were moving at different rates! Is this because the hookups are on one side so that side gets better flow due to not having to lift the weight of the loader?

+ other variables.
when you actually have something attached to FEL (bucket, forks, etc..) the smaller differences dis-appear. and everything should move equally. more so when there is a load on the FEL.

It's completely normal for that to happen. Often there is a timing rod that runs between the two side to help keep them together, the JD's have small pins in these rods that are well known for breaking.
I figured this was normal! Is there a way to tell that both lift cylinders are functioning properly?
