I am close to purchasing a Kubota L3000 w/ FEL and 72" 3 point mower. My question is should I load the rear tires when 75% of the use will be mowing.
Thanks in advance. Paul

PaulInMi, the main reason I know of for putting liquid ballast in tires is to increase traction, and possibly stability. And of course if you are using a front end loader, then you need some kind of counterweight to the rear, a heavy implement or weight box on the 3-point and/or ballast in the rear tires. Personally, I have liquid in my rear tires and normally have the box blade on the 3-point when I'm using the loader.

But if you don't have any traction problems, don't intend to pick up heavy loads with the front end loader, or have a heavy weight to put on the 3-point, then you don't need ballast in the tires in my opinion.

Thanks Bird for answering both questions. I hope to have the new tractor in my garage before snow is the only thing I can use the FEL for. Paul
