After unloading 2 HEAPING loads of peat/soil by hand and cussing the fact I can't do it with the FEL, I'm thinking about buying a "loadhandler". My question is: I have a one ton truck and it was squatting a little with the weight I had, so...could it have handled what I did? Anybody have experience with them?

I checked the web site, but I think they may be a little biased... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

There have been a few recent threads on Load Handlers. Here's one.

Thanks Mike,
I did read that one. However, I REALLY had a LOAD! I see the web site shows people using them but not huge loads. Just wondered what some of its limits are...in the real world.

I saw a thingy in Farm Show, where a guy made a thing to pull the load out of the truck bed. It was metal, and had a panel that set across the bed up against the cab. There were two lengths of tubing that ran alongside the wheel wells and ended in a cross bar that he'd hook to a chain. The other end of the chain went to a tree or hooked to the tractor. Driving away from the tree, or pulling with the tractor away from the truck, pulled the load out, minor sweeping was required.
