I have a 2002-2003 LK3054. My steering sector shaft broke, and I am in the process of replacing. I have taken the cover off the right side and removed the old shaft, and about a cup or so of fluid came out when I removed the side plate. Is this oil or hydraulic fluid? Is there somewhere I can pour more in once I have it put back together?

Thanks

I’ll be at my manual and I can check. In the meantime smarter members than me will likely answer your question

That is hydraulic fluid. Don't worry about putting it back. When you reinstall, make sure you center the wheels with the steering wheel.

After I install the sector shaft, I turn the steering wheel in both directions and count the turns. Then come back 1/2 way to find center. Then I install the pitman arm.

Did you already buy the shaft? You can get it from Kubota for 1/3 what Kioti sells it for.

Thank you!

Yes, I believe I found some old posts by you!
I bought the Kubota part from Messicks and it was an exact match. I still think it was a little over $300.

Thank you for all the help. Coming in from the side to replace it was a heck of alot easier than trying to take the whole column off.

Ok. So I got it all back together and something isn稚 right. Everything for together perfectly and I bolted everything back together and it痴 not really turning at all. It doesn稚 seem to be catching or something. When everything was off my steering wheel wouldn稚 even make a full turn. I feel like when I first took it off I could turn it around a lot now it seems to turn maybe one circle. I知 not sure what痴 going on. Any thoughts?

It might be binding. Were You able to turn the steering wheel with sector removed?

To remove you used the adjusting screw to push the plate off correct?

I sent you a PM with my number. It might be easier if we talked. Feel free to just call.

I would think that will stop your leak. I would replace the upper bushing as well as the seal. Even without the bullet if the bushing is worn the seal won't last. It is not that bad of a job. Good luck!
