i am thinking of adding the JD forward and rear light kits to my 3520. does anyone have them on their 3000 twenty series tractors? or seen them mounted on one? the whole shebang is gonna run around $150. is it worth it or should i use aftermarket? are all necessary components included? i know i will have to get the brushguard kit for the forward lights, and included that in the above figure. wanting opinions from any who have seen or used these lights. i found out quickly last night that the FEL renders the tractors headlights useless. thanks alot.

FWIW the wiring harness is already there. I chose aftermarket lights simply because it is way to easy for these to get whacked off. I used trim tape to mount mine, but may even go to magnet mounts. That way I can move them for the task at hand. I have less than $50 in all 3...

I bought a cheapy flood with magnetic attachment for $30 at TSC. It does not do me much good. I need some with a more direct beam. Also their magnetic attachment is too weak. I think I will design some with some nice rare earth magnets.

when you say the harness is already there, do you mean the main harness from the engine to the fuse box, or all the way to the ROPS? if so, where do i put the switch to control it?

Got that option when I bought mine new, even though I had to call jd service support to tell the dealer the option number (just came out). The price doesn't seem to justify the cost, and it is pre wired. I just wanted it all JD so it's all a matter of opinion. Haven't broke mine yet, but if anyone can I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Always been good at running into things when mowing..trees, fences, parked vehicles....just playing. Be safe.

Have both JD light kits on my 3520 - the fronts and rears.
Work okay. NOTE: I have the bigger alternator. Both
light sets come on - at some point, I will add a switch setup
to allow, f/r/both.

Buy some grommets as JD doesn't supply them - kinda a cheap
oversight on their behalf. Use them for where the wiring comes
out of the ROPS.

Enjoy the 3520 - great machine!

On my TEN series there is a purple wire at the point where the rops bends striaight to the axle.

For magnets, try the ones that welders use for their gounds. They are round with a bolt hole in the middle. That was a big deal a while back on TBN, using them for light mounts....

I have the forwarding work lights and daul rear work lights and I will tell you they are must have.they really light up the night and when you are using the loader at night the are must have due to the fact that loader is in the way of your tractor lights.I thing it was $33.00 for the brush gaurds and $120.00 for the forwarding lights.I would really reckamod the forwarding lights. Here is a picture of the lights /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
