Light 'Em Up!!!

Ok Fellas (and any lady pack members that may be reading this)....

I just received my new, loaded DK40SE HST and I want to bring a little daylight to the Adirondack night! Looking to put BRIGHT, LED lights (either bar or individual units) on my ROPS. I'm thinking most along the top, underneath the top cross bar for those occasional errant trees....also, perhaps one or two on each side, head high or a bit above that. I'd like them separately switched so I don't have to have them all on at once if I don't need.....

Thoughts on manufacturer, switch location etc etc are GREATLY appreciated :cool2::dance1:

I ran my aux. Lights wiring up through the ROPS, drilling holes through the front of the roll bar just below the fold for the switches. My lights are mounted up top. If you look in my profile, you'll see posts I made with pics of them. The brand of floods I used were 'blazer' from TSC, but those may go in favor of LED's. By the way, what part of the 'Dacks are you from???

Oh and my wiring just plugs into the 7 pin connector on the back of the tractor, so the lights all go out when the keyswitch is in the off position

I'm cheap, well thrifty anyway.

I made a light mount out of c-channel, held onto the ROPS by u-bolts, then mounted the 12-volt floodlights I bought from LED Wholesalers on Amazon on that.

My switches are toggle buttons with indicator lights purchased on E-Bay, where they were sold as waterproof accessory switches for boats.

I used the separate positive lead with a 15-amp fuse inline which I had run for horns. (Because we occasionally want light without wanting to have to start the tractor, and with the indicator lights and led floods drawing so little current, we are not much worried about the occasional minor battery drain.)

The switches were mounted an either side of the horn switch, which is mounted centrally in the knock-out panel on the right fender between the feet of the hand grip.

I thought I had pictures of it to post, but they seem to have evaporated.....

I'm in South West corner of the bark at foot of West Canada Wilderness. Beautiful area, down by Towns of Russia & Ohio.... We farm maple, chase bucks/bears/grouse/coyotes and throw dry flies after mountain Brookies ... In real world I live in Northern NJ, maybe 1/2 hour west of NYC.

I totally agree...I'm on the opposite end of the park from you, on the northeast corner in the town of Black Brook. Whiteface Mtn. Is directly in the backyard, about 15 miles west. The only time they'll drag me out of these mountains is when I've assumed room temperature...I'll live on up here after that as I've made it a request to my family that when I pass away, I be cremated and divided 46 ways and placed on the summit markers of each of the High Peaks...That'll give the clan something to do after I'm gone...;-)
