Lifting a thing of bricks

The specs on your tractors FEL says 2500 pounds lift at the pivot pins. There is normally around 800 - 1000 pound drop in lift capacity at a point 24" forward of the pivot pins. So it would be safe to say with adequate rear ballast your FEL will lift around 1500 lbs.

You'll have to multiply not divide.

If you weighed a single brick - multiplication would be your friend.
If you weighed several bricks, I'm thinking you may get more accurate results - then, you would divide the total by the number you weighed and multiply.

Obviously, only half my brain was working. Perhaps now - it's even worse :)

Get the forks. Let the MIL chip in. If you can't lift them get a couple pallets from somewhere and split them up. Win, win.

I can see keeping some bricks for repairs and such but 4 pallets is a lot of bricks. $$$$

She not finished. She going to pour a back patio and finish around it with the brick. She also going to build some steps. She didn't tell the builder so it wasn't in the price so she going to work on her yard and we got to move them. She said something about a rake as well..so I may get me a rake also...
