Lift not Working

I have a JD 955 Hydro. I bought it used with a 7 backhoe. I did not check the lift before I bought it. It had the backhoe on and didn't cross my mind. When I move the lift lever it doesn't raise? I adjusted the wheel under the seat that controls the draft, but still nothing. I have changed the oil and filter last week and everything looked good? Any ideas?

Are you talking about the 3pt arms as being the 'lift'? I suspect so, but don't know for sure.

Is this a different 955 from the one you asked about putting a Kubota backhoe on, back in July?

If you had to fabricate something, did you have to disconnect anything to the 3pt system? Or tie into the hyd. lines there, so the 3pt doesn't function as normal? Also, maybe the shut-off valve is stuck, if off for a spell.

Did you not import the tractor from the UK?

The 3 point lift arms will not work with the backhoe on and hooked up. When you remove the backhoe you have to jump the in and out of the power beyond and then they will work. I hope this answers your question.

I've got the same hoe on my 790. As far as I know, the tph will work with the hoe hydraulics hooked up, just not when the hoe controls are operated. My rig has a support bar that holds the tph lift arms up when the hoe is installed, just to keep them out of the way. You might check for something like that. It comes off completely when I remove the hoe /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for all the help. I have the power beyond kit hooked up tight. I have just changed the trans oil last night and discovered this. Dealer said that the valve may be stuck in the rockshaft. I am going to get a manual and troubleshoot over Thanksgiving.

If you drained the oil last night could it be an air bubble? Did you clean the screen and change the filter?

Cleaned screen and change filter and bled the air. Talked with a guy who had the same problem and it was the valve in the rockshaft. He said they stick when you leave the BH on and don't uses the lift. I'll try this tonight.

Lift update! I took it into the dealer Monday morning. The mechanic called Tuesday to talk with me and asking the problems. I told him that it had a power beyond kit on it until I removed it for my other tractor. He asked if I removed the set screw under the seat that diverts the fluid to the power beyond? He removed it and fired it up. The lift works like magic! Simple fix if you just know where to look. Thanks for all your help.
