Lift Capacity

I'm curious to know the 3pt. lift capacity of my 1500. I need to move a trailer with about 550# tongue weight and don't want to hurt anything. Thanks

I wouldn't try it if you are talking about lifting that tongue weight with the 3ph. You are bound to either break something or lift the front end and lose steering. That's too much tongue weight on a trailer anyhow. Can you re-distribute weight to about 200# on the tongue?

According to documentation my Finish mower weights about 540# and the tractor lifts it fine.
But the front end is defiantly light even with a 4’ railroad track as the front bumper and I never have to transport it far or at any speed.

Though i believe your 3pt lift would lift the weight 9 or relief.. either way.. not hurting anything), and if the trailer does have a tounge weight of 500#+ sounds like a big trailer.. like a 16' flatbed or bigger. I think that towing with the 3pt may get you into trouble... The lift cam come up and that would put the load over your axles... big time flip hazard.. not to mention, that you are probably approaching the weight limits of that little tractor.. my 1700 had a floating front end when I picked up 5xx# in the rear scoop... I could do wheelies... I added about 200# to the front and all was well... Your 1500 is a bit lighter than my 1700.. not sure if you could safely add enough front weight to it.. Alternately.. if you have a swinging drawbar.. I'd pull from there.. not the 3pt.

Does your 1500 have a loader on it? Last week I needed to move my 16 ft trailer around and I usually back up and lift the tongue of the trailer up with my landscaping box but it was too low to do that. Well since I am lazy and didn't want to get off of the tractor I just turned the tractor around and picked the tongue up with the loader bucket and backed it around the house. I had it up high enough that the front wheels were off of the ground.
