Thanks for the compliment but I bout had to laugh when I read " exotic ". That wood came from a Oak stump after I took the dead tree down that was inevitably going to fall on the well house. That milled wood stinks to high heaven until it finally dries and that took awhile. I'm always amused at folks saying to burn the stump.

That was in 2008 and at age 75 I probably won't be working a stump up again any time soon :)

Well sir , that's some purdy oak you got there :) wish I had a piece that looked like that !

I made this for my great nephew off of a picture I found online.

IMHO, they are on par with Collings, Bourgeois and other makers. Old, good Martin's are the only ones I've heard that I would say sound better - but you know how guitar players are....always looking for "the right tone".

Very cool........love the tone of old Martins.......I am sure I would love these guitars as well.

Wow, you guys do some amazing work. I had wanted to make a rustic but clean looking writing desk from reclaimed pallet wood, but did not have a jointer or planer. So I made a writing desk with the left over grade 2 red oak flooring. I trimmed it out with scrap cedar from the trim from replacing carpenter bee infsted facia boards. I had to hand plane the oak boards since they were about 1/8" thicker than the cedar. Turned out pretty decent.

Pretty decent? I would say so. Nice work. So what are the underpinnings? An old sewing machine maybe?

Thanks. The legs are 4 inch square tubing. I bought the legs on the internet, but I'm trying to teach myself to weld so I can make my own in the future.

Where in OK are you? I'm just south of Tecumseh near Macomb.

This was some fun projects because we not only got to do the wood work, we got to tractor fun doing the harvesting of the trees. There are threads here on TBN showing how the candy was made.
