The Grandson and I have a new road game we play when travelling.....instead of "Punch-Bug", we now play "One Eyed Chevy". You ever notice how many GM vehicles you meet that have one of the daytime driving lights out? Start taking notice....you will be amazed.

One daytime headlight out does not make a lemon.

I have a theory on that. Those lights turn on as soon as the vehicle starts. The lights aren't made by Ford Chevy Dodge or any other vehicle maker. I think the voltage spike from the starter is taking out those driving lights. Like you though I do see a lot of them cyclops vehicles.

Yea Treemonkey1K.....I thought about setting a roadside stand out front for the Grandson.....he could sell both lemonade and GM daytime driving lights. It could prove to be a jump start towards his college tuition.

Relax GM folks.....only pointing out what is a known problem throughout a few model years of GM pickups and SUV's....do a search on the subject and I guarantee you will have several hours worth of reading.

Hey that's a great idea FastPaul. He could make more money off the driving light replacement than any lemonade..A friend of mine has one of those Chevy's with the driving light out I am always bugging him about it. I have a Kia Spectra that shuts off the lights after a few minutes if you leave the headlights on. I was going thru headlamps fairly quickly doing that. So I started shutting off the headlights when I parked it. I haven't had to replace any since.. That voltage spike in the system makes sense to me. Driving the freeway every morning and afternoon I try to see what brand is sitting by the road the most often.. It warms my heart to see BMW and Mercedes sitting there as well.... :laughing:

Lots of driving lights out around here. Plus next time one of them Vettes goes by look and see if the tail-lights work. I guess they surge when the brake comes on...Yeah, that sounds like bashing again, but, that Vette is supposed to be the best GM has to offer, besides GM buses..

We both know I could own and drive one. But getting into a Vette and out would be too painful. Bashing GM, nah.. They just made a mint selling the new Hybred buses to MEM. believe the prices were 3 units for a MILLION dollars a set. Now who says they make their money on PU"S and Escalades? At Least they are still in Business...

My Cub Cadet 2544 is really disappointing. It is 3 years old and I am ready to get rid of it now. It always has something wrong with it. I cry in my hands every time I look at the made in the U.S.A. sticker on the back. I will never buy another.

wow i cannot believe all the s-10 problems. i beat the snot out of mine for 186,000mi untill the clutch started to go. i sold it and still seen it driving around town for another 5 years. it was a 1994, 2wd, 2.2, 5 speed stick.
