Hey y'all --

Came back from vacation and discovered large puddle of oil on garage floor under left front axle /joint (whatever). Helpful Hubby checked oil level and it was still up there. But it kept leaking. Noted that I hadn't paid attention to fact the left joint was covered in residual with grass (hadn't cleaned it off after using recently), so compared to other one it was clear it had been leaking.

Here's a shot of the right (clean) joint and the left, leaking one. Checked this morning and nothing on the newspaper under the left ... HH says it had lost a bunch of the oil since we noticed it.

So -- thought it was a seal, but HH checked manual (we have the manual for the YM 240) and there is no seal ... so what's our solution?

Thanks guys.

The HH must be looking in the wrong place.
The GW (good wife) is right, there is an oil seal; it's between the upper half and the lower half of the gear box.
We have them in stock.
I will send a p.m.

I am unable to tell just where the leak is on your pictures. #28 here is also a seal. If the leak is not bad you might try some Lucas power steering stop leak. It has worked for several.
