I installed 4 new LED work lights. What a huge difference. I stayed with the oval design to look like factory. They are 1350 lumens each. I got them from Surplus Center for around $225 for all 4 shipped. The brand is Buyers which makes some very nice products.

I just purchase an LED area light ( ONE LIGHT ) that lights up an area 400 feet, so you could read a book in the field at night. And it's only 150 watts. LED is the only way to go.

Looks good, I like that.

Looks good! I love my LED light bar but I do think your install looks cleaner.

Well, I don't know. Yours looks pretty good. I don't have a welder yet so I didn't want to get into fabricating a bracket. I've got to get me a welder. Yours probably puts out more lumens. 2 of mine combined are 2700. They are nice lights for the money. Aluminum housing with SS bracket. Came with 3/8" SS bolts but I went down to 5/16" SS so I didn't have to drill out the hole in the factory bracket. Thought that may create a rust spot by compromising the paint. I did repaint the front brackets a while back.

Hey AaronS, when you get a chance can you send me a pic of the side of your hood where it meets the grey cowling in front of the windshield? Is there any adjustment on the hood you know of? Mine hood is a little out at the bottom on left side compared to the right. Seems like the hood doesn't contact the rubber seal between the hood and cowling very much. Just curious. Thanks.

Yes I'll take a pic when I get a chance. As for my light bracket, it's all bolted, no welding involved.

I think it was George had the welded one. Looks good all the same. Thanks.

I was thinking a light bar for the P7010C. Now I'm thinking of going with 6" oval LED lights too.

The one advantage I see to a light bar setup like mine vs. separate lights at the corners is the light bar, being centrally located is less apt to catch on brush. I caught a tree limb with the right from light bracket when brush-hogging close to a woods last summer. Luckily it didn't cause any damage but it easily could have.

How many modifications did you need to do to install them? I have the factory lights and was looking to do something like you have. Thanks

I'm an old retired guy. The only time I work the tractor at night is to keep ahead of major snow storms with my little JD 3038E. I got five LED lights with little draw but bright light and mounted them on a 1 by 4 board... Four forward one back... Spliced the wires together on the board and ran one pair down to the existing AUX plug - then bungeed the board to the top of the ROPS. It lights up everything, doesn't overpower the tractor electric and is easy to put on when needed. I use the tractor in a forest a lot and a permanent set of lights would get knocked off regularly by limbs. It makes me feel almost in control out in the middle of a heavy, snow-filled forest plowing at midnight - with the snow just pouring down. Seeing all around you is comforting.

Lot's of discussions on mounting LED lights.
A number of us have mounted the single lights on neodymium magnets.
I like cup magnets with a #1/4-20 thread and about 100 lbs of pull example https://www.magnet4sale.com/cup-magnets-neodymium-w-threaded-stud-112-lb-holding-power/ .

This lets me stick it on the ROPS and move it around, easily rotate to use as a spot light or easily take it off and use it elsewhere.
/edit - I've tried the strong magnets with 400lb pull but they are overkill for a $15 LED light.

I mounted a led bar with 4 90 pound rated magnets. I haven’t had a need to use them yet but I don’t think strength will be an issue. I paid about $10 for a 6 pack. The main reason I used magnets is the light bar in the lawnmower is in my way getting on and off the mower and I wanted to be able to remove it. I mounted some pods in the back of my truck with zip ties. They have been hit twice and broke the zip ties without damaging my lights. IMG_1645.JPG

Wow! Old thread.

Here is my more recent thread on the subject

And here is a video of my new lights with links in the description.

I am very pleased with the outcome. No modifications to the tractor other than removing the stock lights.
