LED Garage Lights

I noticed that the latest Costco flyer has the Feit's on sale. IIRC, they were $23.99.

My two have been working awesome plugged into the GDO. I actually USE the "light" button on the opener remotes a lot now. Just the one LED shop light does a great job of providing enough light throughout the entire basement to safely navigate through. If I happen to accidentally leave one or both on all night, I don't really care.

This is true. Matches online price of 47.99 but that's for the 2 pack and free shipping. In stores the $6 off is only good for 10. I had to make 2 purchases to get my 18. They are hung now and we're about to wire them. I'm on a pallet on the forks and my wife is driving the tractors

I just took delivery of a dozen of the Feit's for use on a temporary spray painting booth. Only took a week for them to get here, and I'm relieved that the new sale price is the same I paid on line! Later I'll move the lights to a shop for task lighting, and the plug'n'play connections were a big reason I chose them.

I'd be real interested in how you hang and wire yours, and how well you think they do the job.

So far so good... bought both the Costco Fixtures and the two tube packs...

The old 8' fluorescents were beginning to sound like a Dr. Frankenstein's Laboratory when cold.

Also bought some Phillips direct can replacements... like the light but my cans are 40 years old and don't have the little "Y" bracket to hold the spring clips... maybe the "Y" bracket can be bought?

Got them installed. To wire them, I just wired a 15amp plug for each light. I'm over wiring this shop already. In about one full day I have run 500' of 14/2' and 350' of 12/2. Still have the 10/2 to run. Also if you include the lights, I've done just about 40 outlets. I figured if there's any issues, I could just unplug the light and replace it. Also will have more options for lighting with the plug having an empty slot.

Running the underground Friday and should know how they are Friday night. Considering how much light my 5 construction lights out off these should be the ticket

Went back to Walmart for 10 more. New model. Each light now has an outlet so they can be strung together rather than plugged in separately. The plastic tape no longer there. Color of light less intense looks a little yellow compared to the first batch. Ends screwed onto reflector rather than clipped on. Minor but welcome less packaging in the box = less to throw away.

You either replace the ballast and use the new, long LED bulbs or you replace with strip where you can slide on assemblies that take normal CFL or LED screw-in bulbs. Did this in our master bath several years back.

Thought I could just buy the new long LED bulbs and clip them in. No, you have to replace the ballast.

After getting 8 Costco LED 4' lights I noticed each bulb had a thin clear plastic covering on each bulb. I pulled them off. Hopefully they weren't important and were supposed to come off.

My 4' Costco LED bulbs were just exchanged with the T12 40 watt... I did not do anything to the ballast... they are still in place and wired in.

There are 2 types of bulbs I've seen. One uses existing ballast, the other you bypass the ballast and run 120 to the LEDs. I have not seen any that use their own ballast.
