How can I make thieves job much harder?

Can bring it over I'll watch it,just gotta leave the key in-case need to move it.:D Serious side can remove tire, drop it off at friends house and also take battery out or drain all hyd.fluids out and store it in a bucket, and leave a 3 point attachment on it,make sure leave it without any fuel in it ,if its easy drain tank.If its inside a shop/barn leave hood up pull air-filter and whatever else is easy and make it look broke down. If you have good insurance on it,make sure policy is good, dont worry about it,and have a great vacation. Just throwing them out there....

I'll offer you the same deal, if it's closer to you.

BTW, I'll need you to leave me a credit card. Just in case the tractor needs fuel, or if I get hungry. :D

OK, I'll stop. (for now) ;)
If it has a fuel solenoid wire that's easy to get to, unplug it. Everything will look "normal" but it won't start.

Others have said it but....

> Take out the main fuse and hide it.

> Leave the PTO engaged.

Unless a thief is tractor-smart the tractor won't start. Not many thieves carry around a fuse.

Then the problem is towing or winching the tractor. If you have a FEL turn the bucket upside down.

If your wheels have a hole in them run a chain through the hole around the tire and around some part of the frame. Chain cutters would defeat this but it slows things down.

I like the "remove a front tire" idea, too. Just hide it somewhere. The upside down bucket can be used to lift the front end enough to remove the tire.

Use the FEL and raise it up and take wheels off and put it on blocks then remove the loader and relocate the loader.

It works out here with thieves I have a security camera and when some came in they saw it was on blocks and scratched their heads in confusion then left thinking someone else already got to it.

only thing i might addd is replace the fuse you take out with a bad one that fills the hole and they never give it a thought.

Take the battery out.

Disconnect the power beyond hydraulic; on my old B8200 the hydraulics ran the HST and the loader. Disconnect that, the loader would not lift, and HST was kaput.

Disconnect safety switches. If someone is so industrious as to put a battery in it, it wont start without the safety switches.

Turn the fuel off...

The best idea is posted. As stated use your FEL loader to raise the tractor and take off the front tires , and set down on blocks.

I dunno about you, but in order to remove the loader, I need my wheels on. And in order to relocate the loader, I need my tractor. Good suggestion if you have a second tractor, or a forklift, or something like that. But then what's to stop them from stealing THAT!

I just can't believe that you'd go on vacation and not take the tractor with you! Just think if the sand castles you could build.

I usually turn off fuel, disconnect the seat safety switch, switch the PTO on and toggle the powerreverser forward. This would prevent drunk youngsters from starting the engine, but of course wouldn't stop anyone familiar with tractors. My only other defence is the game camera trained on the machine.

Questions:
1) let me know what method you decide.
2) What's your address

On most Kubota tractors the solenoid is only energized when stopping the tractor, a few models do have a two coil solenoid using one for stop and the other for run mode.
