Two dealers both think it might have something to do with how the loader is plumbed. If that is the case, I'm not sure what I can do about that. I am going to drain the fluid, clean the screen, refill and possibly try a new cap. If that doesn't work I am not sure what to do next. I don't know anything about how the loader should be plumbed. I have no manual for it nor even a brand name, it is also Japanese. I don't know if anyone around here would work on it.

If anyone else still has ideas, let them fly!

If it blows fluid out when activating the loader control(s) it has nothing to do with the cap in my opinion. Somehow the reservoir is being pressurized when you use the loader. The japanese loader plumbing we have seen is several levels beyond obtuse. If part of the loader system has failed, you need a hydraulic specialist. It is not homeowner stuff.

Got a new cap for the hydraulic oil. Tonight I am going to drain the fluid, clean the screen, fill with new JD 303, put on new cap and hope for the best. One other thing I will do is make sure the tubes leading to the vent are not blocked (think I only checked the vent itself last week). If it requires more than this to repair the family that farms behind me owns a dealership (not Yanmar), and they said they have worked on Yanmars and would be willing to repair it. So I am glad to have a mechanic close by who can do things that I may not be able to.

Well, I know what the problems is, I just don't know how to solve it! When the loader comes down it sends the hydraulic oil back and there is nowhere else for the air to go but out the vent hole in the cap. If I provide another way for the air to escape, like by taking out the dipstick, then the oil doesn't come through the cap. I took what I thought were the vent hoses (the ones that go into the black cylinder in the pic) and made sure they were clean along with the itty bitty tubes they connect to on the rear diff. Those hoses seem to vent something else like maybe the rear hubs? I have to be missing something else. This system has to have somewhere else to vent other than the cap.

By the way the screen wasn't that dirty.

What am I missing? Does anybody know? I don't have that U-shaped tube.

The problem is that a restrictor is missing in one of the valves, which allows the fluid to return too fast, making pressure. Turns out this same company makes the loaders on JD (surprise, surprise) so I can probably come up with this thing pretty easily. Just making some small adjustments on the joystick has helped already. I think I now know more about hydraulics than I ever thought I would!
