Leaking hydraulic valve

The valve in the pic is leaking around the stem that is exposed. When I move the lift up and down without the tractor running there is a small bubble that appears during this some of the time. What is this valve called? and can I take it apart and replace the gasket or does the whole valve have to be replaced? Hoye has them for $250 but I'm hoping to get it fixed with a new gasket rather than a new valve.

If you are talking about the stem with the little red handle there is just an o-ring sealing it. #10 in this drawing. :thumbsup: Yanmar Tractor Parts: THREE_POINT_CONTROL

Hi Winston, the stem with the red lever isn't where the leak is. It is happening around the piston just under the tip of the screw driver. I tried to get a pic with the screw driver tip on the piston but it obsecured the view so I just touched it to the retaining nut around the piston. What is this valve called? The control valve? Seems like I read in the manual that there is a control valve inside where it is protected.

Yes, that is the control valve. #15 is the seal on the control valve shaft. You can click on that number and it will bring it up for you.

Is that not the valve that controls the descent rate or locks the 3pt.

It has several seals, and you should be able to re-seal

What is the purpose of the lever with the red tip?

JJ that is the valve that locks the 3pt. and the red tipped level controls the speed of descent. There is a knob under the seat that either locks or allows the lift to travel. I think I'll order a new seal for just a couple bucks and try that to fix it, then if that doesn't work I guess I have to buy the whole valve assembly.
