I posted this inquiry in another topic area, but got no replies. Maybe this is the right place.

My 4 WD 2615 gear drive recently started dripping fluid around the gear shifter. Appears to be coming from under the rubber boot. In a parts diagram on a supplier's web I see an item described as a "cap seal." Is this the likely villian? The diagram shows a couple of other "ring-type" pieces, but there are no descriptions.

Is replacing the cap seal replacement a "straight forward" DIY project - not requiring special tools or skills? I've rebuilt the front and rear suspension on my 69 Vette, so I do have a variety of tools and some general skills.

Thanks
Mike
