LB 2204 Won't start

Maybe I should have posted this here, please forgive the duplication from the general owning operating forum.

I'm trying to help out my Father-in-law with his Kioti. The starter works correctly if you short the solenoid, and you can bump start the tractor, it just won't start with the ignition switch, no click, no nothing.

We could probably figure this out if we could get a schematic, anyone know where to look for one for an older model like this?

Thought it might be the switch that the clutch pedal engages, but can't locate that switch.

Or maybe someone has had this issue & knows what to check?

Clean the terminals, remove the ground wire clean/replace(This is very important, mine will do nothing with dirty terminals). Check the large in line fuse(not sure where it is on that tractor). Does it have a operator seat ignition cut out? The last thing is replace the ignition switch, or if your handy, take it apart and clean it.

I can't say about the 2204 but the actual ignition switch is a known weak point on CK and DK models. In my case, dirt in the switch caused a poor connection and the glow plugs didn't operate. I was able to disassemble, clean, and lube my switch; but if you try this don't lose any parts and carefully note how it came apart.

Your safety switch (that prevents cranking unless the clutch is fully pressed) should be somewhere on the clutch linkage, mine is on the clutch arm above the pedal. This IPB may
give a clue about the switch location (part no 14):

There may be other interlocks. If the ignition switch and clutch switch check out OK, you'll probably need a schematic.

Thank you very much, knowing what the switch looks like helped a lot, one of the wires to it was loose. Starts right up now.

Now I've got to figure out why the steering is pulling hard left. Looks like a steering cylinder problem. I've never seen one that works the way this one does. The control arm from the steering column attaches to a rod the looks like it works some sort of shuttle valve on the end of the hydraulic steering cylinder. Anyone have any knowledge about this style steering set-up? None of the parts diagrams on MichIronandEquip.com illustrate the LB2204. Or at least I can't get them to open.

This sounds like the old-style automotive power steering (pre rack and pinion and pre integrated PS gearbox, like in 1960s). I assume this pulling only occurs with engine (hence hydraulics) running. The only thing I can figure is a problem with the shuttle valve, perhaps a broken or soft centering spring. With luck, this is a commercial part adapted from another application so parts may still be available. Maybe Kioti even has parts, just not listed online. I'm guessing you need to rebuild the shuttle valve but, personally, I wouldn't start that job without instructions and a known parts source (it's likely you'll break or lose something).

I'd call MIE, the approved dealer in the parts diagram, and inquire about the problem and availability of parts for the steering assy.
