Is it possible to fit a later bucket (60") on a ML104 loader. Local dealer has a low hour used 2015. Would probably fit my needs just fine and save some money. One reason I had been leaning towards the 2615 is the 60" bucket. For hauling around horsey manure, more volume will be handy. Thanks for any thoughts, Gary

It can be done, but is not recommended....

Hi GLL, Rback knows alot more about this than I do, but here's my comment:

The 60" bucket is not a LATER item, just a DIFFERENT item.

The 48" bucket on the Mahindra 2015 & ML 104 is designed as part of a total package, and for good reasons. 1)safety 2)overloading of components and 3)dimensions. Using a 60" bucket gives an unwary operator the potential to load much greater weights. And this may exceed the design limits of front-to-rear balance of the tractor. For example, loading the thing up with bark mulch would be no weight problem. (full bucket loads, by the way, can be either HEAPED or STRUCK; heaped being totally full to overflowing) However, with a full load of wet sand, it would be a huge amount of weight. The 48" bucket helps ensure the operator will not overload the tractor. All this stuff is designed by engineers to be a safe & workable system for the AVERAGE tractor driver.

Too heavy a bucket load may also over-stress hyd cylinders and loader arms.

Finally, the overall tire width of a 2015 is about 53 inches. The 48" bucket stays within that width. The wider bucket may not be as practical for manuevering, getting into tight spaces.

My 2415 with the ML 105 has a higher lift capactiy than a 2015, but still has the 48" bucket. I'm happy with it, even though there may be times when I desire more bucket capacity.........

I have a 1994 Case 1120 with the CNH/KMW-ALO loader and the cool remote control located on the free-standing pedestal and that loader came with the factory 54" bucket. The bucket is great since it clears the turf tires (I believe CNH used a larger turf tire on both front and rear Bridgestone than Mahindra does. I will say it lifts gravel just fine but is not over powered while it is going that way. I would like to see the 2015 and the 2415 with the 54" option.

Here is my baby. Paid $8500.00 cash in 1995 for the tractor, loader, grader blade, bush hog and full factory remote Hyd and the OEM sunbrella. The guy paid $15,500 from Hazelton in 1994 and left it outside for a year cuz he could not get it in his garage. I guess he never figured out the ROPS folds. I already had the Kubota 2551 thrower and that is a Woods RM550 finish mower.

A toothbar will help increase the bucket capacity dependiing on what you are moving. The bucket on the 2015 doesn't roll back a whole lot and the toothbar extends the bottom lip somewhat so that material doesn't flow over the bottom lip so much. It also improves the digging capabilty of the FEL.
