Large Rock !

My friend had three large sandstone rocks sitting on his property that he wanted to get rid of so I thought I take my trailer out and have him load them up. Well, after loading two of the three, I felt that my trailer was loaded with as much as it could safetly handle. He loaded them with his large Ford 4wd tractor and now I'm just wondering if my little JD3320 will be able to lift it off? Be watching for more photos

If your JD won't just wrap a chain around it and slowly roll it off and you may want to lay some plywood on the back edge of your trailer so it won't get damaged.
How much to bring that to Florida? we don't have any rocks here

My friend owns pature land on the south side of Kanopolis Lake, and it is covered with rock.

That would make a great marker rock!

Like if you want to mark the corner of a property, out in the woods.
Dig a 3 foot hole, and place tip end of that rock into the hole, back fill and tamp.

It's not going anywhere!


If you had a dozen of them you could carve heads on them, like Easter Island.

obviously hard to tell with a pic, but a guess of the weight of the rock is probably between 2000-2500lbs.

Well the bad news is my JD 3320 didn't even act like it was going to lift the rocks; the good news is nobody or nothing got hurt while unloading them. I ended up just hooking a chain to them and dragging them off the back of the trailer. With the dove tail and the weight of the rock; it worked pretty good.

We've moved and removed some large stuff by chaining it to a tree and driving the trailer forward. Works good, especially if you have a drag under it when it lands! Much different when you forget the drag.
