Hello everyone,
I just thought that I would show the start of another project since my loader is working. I couldn't really lift it but it pushed pretty good. I had to move it about 300 yds to get it to here where it is going to be part of a retaining wall. I think I need a bigger tractor, but the boss ( "wife" ) say's that's on hold for now. Anyways I thought you would like to see my pet rock. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Thanks
Bob

Thanks John,
I'm glad you liked it. I have a lot of his brothers and sisters around too. Gerard had post his bus stop seat so I wanted to show that I had one almost the same back rest and all. I hope that everyone enjoys it. So this pic is for Gerard. I think they are related. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Obviously fraternal, not identical twins!
You know, down here, we'd have to pay a bunch for a rock like that from a supplier who probably just goes up north and pics them up as you guys spit them out! For free! John

I didn't think a tractor of that size would move a rock like that. Now I know what I'm going to do with my new CK30. I'm going rock hunting!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I know of a couple nearby that I could never move before. Thanks

I have a suggestion for moving rocks that size:
Get you an old car hood, turn it upside down. Hook a chain to it. Push the rock onto the hood, and hook it up to the drawbar on the tractor. You should be able to pull the whole thing to where you want it and then use the loader to get it off the hood.
Just keep a careful watch on where your front wheels are in relation to the hood as your adding or removing the rock.

That is another good idea John. I have been thinking about building a rock sled with runners to move them around the property. I still need to move a bunch for the retaining walls. Your right about these things just lying around too. I have a lot of them, so any time you need a big rock John, just let me know, you can have what ever you need. I do have some that I can't even start to move. I could use one of them for a garage floor. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Some of them are still under water right now.
A word of warning to anyone moving rocks of this size, keep them low to the ground, Sudden weight shifts could find you in a position you never dreamed of either.

Kioti John is right, when I lived in Florida I would have paid several hundered dollars for a rock like that. Now, I move them around for fun. If someone down there wants a trailer load, I will load it up for them only $1.99 a pound! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I could probably pay the $1.99 a pound, although that would be a lot for a nice large boulder, but the gas money to haul my trailer up and back would just be too much! I'll just have to do without!
