I purchased a 6' Leinbach landscape rake with the wheel kit. I am unable to lift the rake off the ground. It seems that the lower arms are either too short or the top link is too long on the 3PH.

When I install the wheels I am able to get the rake teeth off the ground when the lift arms are at the highest level. I can attach the top link but I don't see what purpose it would serve at this point. In this configuration I can use the rake but I am not sure if it is correct.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

The BX23 has enough power to lift the rake, but without a picture to see how the mountings look, there is no way to know what or where the problem lies.

I had to smile when I read your post. I had a Leinbach 6' rake for my BX, and finally sold it. If you adjust the rake properly for working, you will find that you can only get the rake 2-3" off the ground. When I needed to transport the rake, I had to shorten the top link all the way to get a foot or so of ground clearance. I think you will get frustrated with this set up, I know I did. I sold the Leinbach and replaced it with a Woods Estate 5' rake. I am much happier.
There are those that have modified the lower links on a BX to gain more clearance. You can find that info using the search feature.
Good Luck,
Will

Will_C,

Did you have the wheel kit with yours? Was the 2-3" off the ground with the wheel kit? Even with the top link shortened I don't think I can get it 1' high. Did you do something else?

Thanks.

Thanks Tom. Those two ideas should get more height with wheels on; but not sure how it will help lift the rake with wheels off.

From looking at the picture of your tractor and rake, the "A" frame on the rake is to tall for your tractor.

I have a KK, 6ft rake and it lifts plenty high enough. I also have Pats but not sure if that is why or not, since I have had them longer than the rake. Mine comes up plenty high to even turn it completely around.

Spun around. the lift arms do come up quite a bit. I also realized while looking thru old photos that maybe Pats did make a difference, since I have some without them. I believe that the diff was I could turn the rake completely around......extra length
