I would be grateful if someone would post or email the preocedure for removing the LA211 loader from the tractor. I have misplaced my operator's manual, ordered a new one, but need to take the loader off so I can start mowing. I do it seldom enough so I don't remember the procedure, except to know that if you don't take it off correctly, you can't put it back on easily - - or at all! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Thank you.

Drive the tractor to where you want to drop the loader. Raise the loader and put the kickstands down. Lower the loader and then lift the front wheels off the ground (with the loader-bucket). Pull the pins from the side mounts. Lower the loader (so that the tractor wheels come back down and then the loader will raise off the mounts) until it pulls clear of the mounts. Kill engine and disconnect the hoses AFTER moving the joy stick to all positions to relieve pressure. Back out /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Reinstall is the reverse--super easy /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

OH--important--if you don't put the kickstands down you will have the loader fall to the ground--on a B series with the cross bar that makes a dent across the hood. J

Thanks for the reply; but I remember from the (lost) manual something specific about dumping the bin 20 degrees or something before lowering it to the ground. It sounded necessary to get the top to lift out of the pivots. What is that all about?

I can attest that that does not dent the hood on the BX... ;-), but it DOES dent your pride.

Yep, when he said to lower the loader and lift the front wheels, that's with the bucket dumped or tilted down about that far. Then after pulling the pins, roll the bucket back (curl) it to let the loader pull clear of the mounts. And as for lifting the front wheels off the ground; don't overdo it, all you actually need to do is take the weight off the front wheels.

Thanks to everyone. This group discussion agrees with what I remember of the manual instructions. I thought that roll back bit was important. Regards.

Bird is correct, believe me or not--I can remove my loader and do so all the time and you apparently cannot /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. In any case--like I said, lower the loader and then using the FEL control do what is needed to raise the front wheels clear of the ground by lowering the bucket--curling it downward. You do not need to get out a protractor or a tape measure or a caliper /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif--all you need to do is raise the wheels just barely clear of the ground so that the weight is removed from the loader pins such that they can be pulled out. Then you must slowly curl the bucket back upward using the joystick so that the loader frame lifts free of the mounts.
No, the BX hood will not be dented if you forget to put the kickstands down because it does not have the cross brace that the B series does have but I would avoid that just the same /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif.
Well, good luck, hope you figure it out. I think on my BX it was 18.934567 degrees of bucket tilt /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif J
