Thanks to all who told me about pressure. The dealership we bought from sent their "service manager" out who looked at the bales and said this tractor would never pick up the bales(1000#-1200#). After discussion on this site, we contacted another dealer and was told about the little knob under the seat. So I think we have solved problem on lifting bales. Interested in weight box you built for back end.
I hate to be this way, but the little knob under the seat has nothing to do with setting you system relief pressure. That little knob under the seat is to adjust the drop rate of the 3 point implement you may have on the back of the tractor on the 3 point hitch. The heavier the implement is the faster it will drop. You adjust it so the implement does not hit the ground so hard, but falls slowly and smoothly.. The relief pressure is adjusted usually with shims but sometimes you can just turn a bolt head on the hydraulic fluid distribution block under your right foot under the floor pan of the tractor to make small adjustments. There are several threads on this forum that describe the procedure to adjust relief pressure to factory specs. You may need an assortment of shims to make the adjustment, and a pressure gauge 0 to 3000 lbs or 0 to 5000 lbs and the proper hose and fittings. If under warranty this is best left to your dealer to do. I would think you tractor is capable of lifting the 1000 to 1200 lb bales. I would get some dealer mechanic who knows what he is doing to examine the system pressure. and adjust as needed.
