I have a L5740 with the 3rd remote that works fine with my grapple bucket but with the front mount snowblower, I set it to the chute valve and it will not work correctly. When I purchased the unit when you activated the remote the shoot shot up or down with no feather control? I purchased reducer valves which sort of helped but never gave good control. this year the cylinder will go one way and can only be assisted to go the other. I removed the valves and it acts the same way. The 3rd remote is electric, does anybody have any ideas on why this will not work but the grapple will? I tested the cylinder on another tractor and it worked fine.

Have you tried it with one of the other two remotes?

If the 3rd electric ports are tied to the curl/dump side of your loader control it will not work on a small hydraulic cylinder... the curl/dump circuit on your loader is regenerative and feeds the same thing to Both ports in the dump cycle... it works with a larger cylinder because of the shaft size reduces the piston surface area... Thanks for the responses. KennyV, I'm not sure if I understand your response. I have the Kubota third remote so I'm not sure how it is tied in. Yesterday, I removed the reducing valves that I got from the dealer last year and tried a plug that was put in the line and drilled out with a small bit thinking after it equalized the pressure it should work but the cylinder only goes one way which makes no sense to me? After I get done clearing the foot of snow we got last night I will try connecting it to another remote and see what it does.
Thanks again.

If you are controlling a cyl with a remote valve and the cyl is a DA cyl, and your valve does not have regen, then you should be able to operate the cyl. If not, then I would suggest one of the QD's in not connected correctly.

Even if the valve has regen, just go past the regen soft stop and the cyl should operate.

can you please explain what you mean by DA and QD?

Thanks

Thanks, it's a Monday... I picked up a larger cyl to try.

The larger cyl works fine, now to change the mounting bracket. Thanks for the answers.
