Hello all, I've been lurking for a while, thought it was about time to register. Just traded my BX22 for an L48 (should have it within a week) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Anyone have any experience on one?

That is quite a change from the BX to the L-48TL. Did you get the backhoe with L-48TL? There are some owners and dealers here to answer questions for you. Did you get the new model with the "spill guard" feature?

equipman,

I ordered the L48 TLB with a heated enclosure ( If this winter is half as bad as last year i'll be moving alot of snow). If "spill guard" is the same as the leveler then It will have it.
The BX was the first tractor I ever used. It gave me alot of ideas on what to use it for. Some of those "ideas" are just too much for the BX. I'll post some pics when it arrives.

Hey Tech, you live anywhere near the orange county chopper guys( Paul and Paul Jr.)? I watch them all the time on the Discovery channel.

Bbell,
Yeah OCC is about 15 minutes away from me. I like the show but I hear enough yelling at home.

Paul Sr. is a moron, Jr. is what makes OCC who they are. I think it's all an act on the father's part. If it isn't and I was Jr. I'd be long gone and have my own shop with his talent.

He can't be that much of a moron to start with nothing and build it up tho being on TV. Perhpas his yelling is for show or for real. It looks to me that you haven't had the chance to work a family business. I think most family business's at least have many days as Paul Sr is acting.

/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif That's exactly why I don't work with my father anymore!

well, guess I can say the same. Not that I wouldn't work for my dad anymore, but father in law, definitely.. Dad did paving and father in law had Chrysler/IH truck and tractor dealerships, several gas stations and restaurant. My dad had most of his trucks while I was young and growing up, the father in law, different.. This is why when I got out of the army I became an owner operator the first 17 or so years..

I sold my L48 TL about 6 months ago. It was and is a great tractor. The loader is very strong. I was just responding to an email about the L4330 and L5030 and it's LA 853 loader being strong. The LA 1150 on the L 48 dwarfs the power of the LA 853, especially in breakout. My toothbar is witness to this as it is bent all over the place. The 4 cylinder engine is very smooth. I sold mine simply because the loader was not removable, something I thought I could live with and the speeds in medium and low were just to low for mowing uses. If you don't mow, which is not a L48 strong point, you will really like the L48. Get the HD bucket for sure, I bent mine rather easily. Rat...
